TabTrade Review - The Good and the Catch
The Broker — What It Is
Tab Trade launched in Q1 2026. Trading platform incorporated in Saint Lucia, licensed through Saint Lucia's FSRA. The guy behind it is Benjamin Boulter. Prior to TabTrade, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, the New Zealand-regulated broker.
His background matters. It suggests the leadership knows how a proper broker operates. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. Still better than a random name you cannot trace.
They launched with Equinix data centre access in London. Same data centres prime brokers run on. Most new brokers starts with a white-label MT4 setup. Tab Trade did the opposite. Not the typical playbook.
Market coverage: forex, indices, metals, commodities, shares, crypto, ETFs. Over 1,000 instruments. For a broker that launched in March 2026, the breadth is broad.
Platforms
You get: MT5, cTrader by Spotware, and web trading. Both platforms from a single account. Many commit to either MT5 or cTrader. Access to both makes a difference. You are not locked into one.
MT5 is what most people know. Full charting, Expert Advisors, huge user base. If you know MetaTrader before, it is familiar territory.
cTrader by Spotware is the more modern one. Better DOM. Smoother chart interaction. Native automated trading. Many people prefer it after using both.
FIX API is there for automated strategies but requires the VIP tier ($25,000 to open). TradingView is said to be coming. That should round things out when it lands.
Costs
Three account types: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard account. 1.0 pip spreads. Zero commission. Straightforward. Zero deposit requirement. Works for beginners.
Edge account. Raw spreads from 0.0 pips on average. Commission of $3.50 each way. All-in: raw spread plus $7 per full lot. On EUR/USD, the actual interbank spread is frequently below 0.2 pips. Meaning your actual cost per trade sometimes sits under half a pip. That is cheap for a broker with $0 to start. Most brokers that have spreads this tight want $500 or more to open. Tab Trade requires zero deposit.
VIP. $25,000 deposit required. FIX API, sub-20ms execution, negotiated fees. Not for the average person. Do not worry about it unless you run serious volume.
Execution Speed
This is the area where this broker actually does something different. Equinix data centres. Sub-30ms execution on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. That is institutional numbers. Most retail brokers operate at a much wider range.
Does it matter? If you scalp, yes. The gap between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is the difference between. If you hold positions longer, it matters less. The point is the setup is serious. That says what kind of broker this is.
Put together those fill times with 0.0 pip spreads and $7 round-turn and what you get makes sense. Few brokers at this price point offer execution like this.
The FSRA Question
Now, the detail that requires honesty. TabTrade is under the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Saint Lucia. That is outside tier-1 jurisdiction. No ASIC. No government-backed safety net. If that is a problem for you, stop reading. There are FCA-regulated options out there.
But. Benjamin Boulter came from BlackBull Markets, a proper broker. The execution setup is expensive. Scam brokers do not bother with tier-1 data centre access. None of this replace tier-1 regulation. It should factor into your decision.
What you are accepting: you give up tier-1 protection. What you get instead: 1:1000 leverage, cheap spreads, no minimum deposit, fast fills. Whether the trade-off works comes down to your priorities.
The Bonus
Tab Trade offers a welcome bonus of up to $2,000. Typical sign-up bonus. You deposit, they top up your balance. Standard terms apply: turnover conditions before bonus funds can be taken out. Check the terms before funding.
